Hi! I’m Ginger, a 22-year-old red dun mare with a sunny personality to match my name! I came to this place from an auction kill pen back in 2019, and I’ve been enjoying the good life ever since. I’ve got a cute dorsal stripe down my back, a serious love for naps and treats, and my absolute best friend is Poppy, we’re pretty much inseparable. Health-wise, I am completely blind in my right eye and a past injury to my right hind leg, which means I’ve retired from riding and am happiest as a pasture pet. I stick right in the middle of the herd most of the time… unless someone challenges me…then I remember I still have some opinions! During the winter, I need more than just hay. Some grain and a few supplements twice a day and I am a happy girl. Before coming here, I was probably a 4-H show horse and a broodmare, so I’ve seen a thing or two and know how to carry myself. These days, I’m all about comfort, companionship, and enjoying the simple things. I’m currently not available for sponsorship or adoption, as I have someone here who loves me the way I am.
