Name’s Kai. I’m an 18-year-old possible Shire mix, and before you ask; yes, the warning label is there for a reason. I came from a Waukesha County Sheriff seizure back in July of 2022, and life before the rescue left its marks in more ways than one. I’m not the soft, easygoing type. I’m sharp around the edges, moody when I feel like it, and VERY spicy when mares are in season. Some days I’ll test you just to see if you deserve my attention. Other days, I’ll decide you’re acceptable… as long as you brought bananas. Sweet treats help your chances too. There’s training buried in here somewhere. You can see flashes of it if you know what you’re looking at. But I get bored fast, and if my brain isn’t busy, I’ll happily make my own entertainment... which humans usually don’t appreciate nearly as much as I do. I need someone patient, experienced, and consistent enough to start from the ground up and work with the horse underneath all the attitude. Truth is, a lot of my fire comes from behavioral trauma. I learned a long time ago that being tough kept me safe. So yeah, I can be unpredictable, stubborn, and a little intimidating. But underneath all the broody dramatics is a horse that still watches people carefully, wondering if maybe one of them will finally understand him.
