I’m August! I’m a 21-year-old Dude Ranch Quarter Horse and one of the original 15 horses pulled from the auction pen back in 2019. When I first arrived, my name was “Smarty,” and honestly… it fit well. I’m a pretty clever guy and likely spent part of my life working on a dude ranch before coming to rescue. One of my favorite things in the world is water. Give me a hose on a warm day and I’m in heaven! I love splashing around and playing in the water whenever I get the chance. These days, I’m enjoying the slower pace of life while still keeping people on their toes with my personality. I’m a little overweight right now and have a borderline case of Equine Metabolic Disorder (EMD), so I need someone who keeps an eye on my diet and overall health. I could use a little refresher training, but with the right person, I could absolutely become rideable again. I’m currently available for adoption and sponsorship while I wait for my perfect forever person to come along
